In the motorcycle community there is a commonly held belief that a ride on New Year's Day is the best way to start the new year. Thus the High Beemers' brunch and ride.
We have a booking at Mimi's for a 10:30 seating on New Year's Day. We'll eat, chat, and then-weather permitting- ride over to Pyramid Lake Overlook and loop over to the Wigwam Cafe in Fernley before heading back to Reno.
If the weather isn't favorable for riding please plan to join us for brunch anyway.
No RSVP is necessary. Just plan to be at Mimi's by 10:15 for a headcount. Mimi's is at Kietzke/South McCarran next to Einstein Bagels.
As a reminder, this year we’ll be partnering with Spread the Word Nevada, an outstanding organization dedicated to advancing childhood literacy in low-income communities. They currently support 14 Title I elementary schools right here in Washoe County. One of their most loved programs—Snack Time with Books—gives kids the chance to enjoy stories, grab snacks, pick out books to take home, and even win prizes and toys through raffles. Those toys bring genuine excitement and joy to the children, and they’ve expressed how much they appreciate our support. A representative from the organization will join us at the brunch to collect the toys and share a few words. They’ll also highlight our participation through their own outreach. They have a score of 99% and a 4 Star rating on Charity Navigator, which is about as good as it gets.
If you’re attending brunch, please consider bringing an unwrapped toy (up to $25).
